Overview
The Town of La Grange operates under the Council/Manager form of government. The elected Town Council will appoint the Town Manager who is responsible for the administration of all departments of the Town government and manages the day-to-day operations of all municipal services.
The Mayor and six Council members are elected by the citizens of the Town of La Grange in November of odd numbered years. The Mayor and Council members each serve four-year terms.
La Grange’s Town Council holds regular meetings on the first Monday of each month, except that if a regular meeting day is a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held the following week pending approval by the Town Council, an annual meeting schedule is adopted each December and is posted at that time. The meeting is held in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall at 203 South Center Street. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and any individual or group who wishes to address the Town Council can make a formal request to be placed on the agenda to the Town Manager. Citizens who would like to present any comments to the Town Council must sign in before 5:45 p.m. with the Town Clerk, and will be afforded three (3) minutes to make comments to the Council. The Council is not required to respond at that time. Members of the public are always invited, and are encouraged to attend and view the proceedings of Council meetings.
